It all began with Skipping.

The beginning of SkippyDeeDooDah : Angela’s story: 

“In 2014, I began understanding that there was a human trafficking crisis ( thought it was a European problem only). So I began volunteering and donating to servant minded organizations that I found and trusted to be accountable with finances, and free from corruption. 

Earlier, In 2013 I began learning the benefits of skipping and incorporated it into my workouts (usually late at night when I couldn’t be seen). I found myself always humming “zippity do da” from the old Disney movie eventually convinced two  “fitness friends' ' that were goofy enough to occasionally join me in a skip. I discovered it was much less embarrassing to be adults skipping in a group. Our adult HAPPY exercise would always get smiles, honks, and waves from those passing by to see adults skipping. After all, skipping is just for children, right?

Eventually, my friends learned on our skips of the child sex trafficking crisis and wanted to help end these crimes against children.

One night while I was skipping, conversing with God., usually humming the old Disney movie tune “zippity do da”...as I approached a stop sign. My heart turned to the cries of the trafficked, the enslaved children. It was at that stop sign, I received : “Think about all the suffering trafficked children that SKIPPED a happy childhood. I want you to SKIP for those that SKIPPED an innocent childhood.”

And SkippyDeeDooDah was born!

p.s. To date, I have not been called to operate a non-profit organization, but ONLY to raise resources to directly FUND established non-profits that are already actively and intensely working to eradicate child traffickibg ….therefore SkippyDeeDooDah exists to SERVE another honorable non-profit organization.

It all began with blow drying my hair.

This creation launched in 2004, while I was working for Clear Channel Television, selling airtime as the token account executive creating client’s content in developing their advertising campaigns.

I discovered that there was tremendous branding power in music for my clients!

I would not miss an opportunity to get songwriters to write and record branding songs for my clients and their products. The fully developed music campaigns were growing product sales and recognition for all of the music branding clients.

the day of revelation

In 2004, I was blow drying my hair - a frequent and favorite routine of mine in order to hear from God and imagine. I was thinking about the new popular show, (1st season) American Idol.

Interrupted by “ You know what’s missing ? …their own music. Originality.” 

A lucid streaming message from the Original Artist himself - the Creator; gifted a massive download of details in a vision of this original music competition, including specifics of a *prime time tv network broadcast, the utlilizing of local radio program director as judges and *four separate music genres and their sub-genres.

After my hair was dry,I dove into the creation and sponsorship fundraising which won the thumbs up by management and corporate within a couple of weeks.

The competitive campaign launched within a few weeks….ending the first finale show recorded with a live audience in the stands of the Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile Alabama.

One jump led to another and I and business partner opened a Creative House & Recording Studio operating to offer advertising agency services and create our client’s branding song.

Thanks to my biz partner’s brilliant buildout of a gorgeous recording and film studio, we were so blessed to work with wonderful team members and allowed for years to produce multiple “pilots”on various regional tv network affiliates in tested markets. The primetime ratings continued to CRUSH every other network’s ratings including their own affiliate network : ABC, NBC, and FOX, MY, UPN Saturday primetime*

Original Artist Trivia

Originally, in 2004, The 13 week contest was called Shooting Star - (named after BAD CO.’s song about songwriter that made the big time) . Subsequently the project was renamed with a more fitting ORIGINAL ARTIST name in 2009.  

I still posses the 2004 FIRST show’s laminated pass!

Series picked up!

“Nobody’s interested in new music. NO ONE is going to watch some unknown songwriter - some unknown music…hmmph…people don’t like music they’ve never heard. This show will never work” - certain president of 20th FOX/Television in my first Original Artist national network pitch at FOX tower in Beverly Hills CA - 2010.

“BUT. BUT. but.. I have PROOF that they do. I have dominating ratings! “ ~ Angela stated .

Still not convinced that the series would be a success, Meidel / FOX eventually “pulled the show” a few months later , dismissing the contract.

Devastated at the time, but VERY thankful (years later) for all of the rejections, I moved onto “other things” knowing that I would never want to deal with Hollywood and the deception therein for a loooooong while,  if ever again.
